Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, who was born August 19 1965, is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. Her most well-known work is her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The series ended on August 13, 2012, following the conclusion of its seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian as well as of English heritage. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish heritage and said that she is a part of Passover seders.
